Hi, Everyone,
I absolutely love sipping a hot cup of Earl Grey Tea from a fine China tea cup. It is relaxing and comforting.
Today however, I made an additional pot of tea and set out to "tea stain" some white papers in a tub on my picnic table outside. I selected leftover pieces of Mixed Media paper and encyclopedia pages. I dipped each individual page into the tub, scrunched them up with my had, then hung them out to dry on my clothes line. Yes, I actually have a long old clothes line in my yard. It is perfect for drying my art pages.
The type of tea you use will determine the colour of your pages. Using Earl Grey Tea tints your pages a very light brown. Using a cranberry tea tints your pages a very light pink. You can darken the tint by increasing the strength of the tea. I wanted my tint subtle, so it appears to be a natural aging. I can hardly wait until these pages are dry.
As many of you know, I LOVE creating Books. Any kind of book . . . from Scratch. I am in the process of creating a series of Hand Sewn Journals, each one using a different type of stitching in a small easily manageable size. This series will be a reference point from which you can create your own Hand Sewn Journals. There are many ways to create Hand Sewn Journals and I will be showing you several.
Have fun creating!
