Vintage Finds - Home Decor - Tags 1, 2 & 3

Inspired by 7Gypsies, a beautiful two piece board set I made a year ago, & everything Vintage . . .
I am going to be creating this stunning Vintage Finds Home Decor piece by making 3 Tags on Sundays from August through November at Treasured Memories in Edmonton, Alberta.  You can create 3 or all 24 Incredibly Embellished Tags by coming to class or reserving a kit.

A Ladies' Diary

Vintage Gramophone with Mini-Album

Remembering the original Disc-Talking Machine created in 1900, I created a mini-album that resembles an old Record Storage Case!  This awesome paper project was inspired by Graphic 45 papers & old Gramophones.  Antiques are so fascinating.

The Gramophone itself starts with 2 handmade boxes cut from matboard standing on Tim Holtz Foundations & is covered in Graphic 45 papers.  The old record is actually a painted CD covered with a vintage record label.  The horn is a rolled piece of cardstock trimmed with Spellbinders Ironwork trim.  Getting the trim out of the dies is a bit challenging but the dies are very intricate and really do look like antique ironwork.  The record needle is a Tim Holtz Pen Nib glued in a thread spool.

A mini-album hides in the top small box and pulls out with one of Tim's Drawer Pulls.  Each page of the mini-album has a flap resembling an old record, a side pocket, & a top pocket.  The Tags inside each pocket also resemble old records.  Check it out!

12 Tags of 2012 - August

August's inspiration is "Timeless Memories" combining silhouettes with Custom Rose Making from Tim's Retro Grunge solid paper creating a tag of pure Vintage goodness.  I used On the Edge dies, Texture Fade dies, Stamps, Twilight Bronze Embossing Powder, Adirondack Copper paint dabbers, Perfect Pearls Mist, added sentiment pins, baubles, type charms, & keys to create this Nostalgic tag.

It's amazing how Tim's Pinecone die can create such beautiful Roses!

12 Tags of 2012 - July

Tim was inspired by the 4th of July & I was inspired by ART.  I played with Alcohol Inks on photo paper, Metalic Mixatives, stamps, & the new Summer Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, & Mowed Lawn). . . added my ARTistic flair to create this fun tag!

12 Tags of 2012 - June

June's tag ages a photograph with Distress Markers & is loaded with Idea-ology Metal embellishments.  I aged Tim's downloadable photo with Tim's Distress Markers, Distress Stains, stamps, & sewed the Pen Nib on with Wire to create the Awesome tag!

I absolutely love that Film Strip Ribbon.  I could put that stuff on everything!

12 Tags of 2012 - May

May's tag uses a Technique to create Faux Porcelain Paper Flowers, is sewing inspired, & uses Tim's new Sewing Edge die.
