Doilies are so delicate and pretty. They look so beautiful as the focal point of the Journal Pages below.
I cut the oval doily in half, gluing one piece onto the left side of the page. The other piece was used as a stencil over which to apply Golden Heavy Body Acrylic Gray Paint through on the right side of the page. I just love how the reverse paint shows through. No use throwing out the painted doily stencil, so I glued it onto the page.
Rummaging through my paper stash I found this pink and ivory butterfly paper and thought it would look great with the doilies.
I also made my own white handmade paper with several layers of white tissue and Golden Fluid Medium. After the handmade paper dried overnight, I tore it in pieces to use on this layout. I used white thread on my sewing machine and randomly sewed all over the torn pieces.
I added music washi tape and hand stitched a variety of pink and white stitches over the layout.
The colours flow so smoothly from one to another around the layout.
Have a look at the stitching on the butterfly wings.
See the stitching in the doily. . . this was so much fun to do.
If you like to stitch, add it to your pages and make beautiful art.
Have fun creating!
